Just steps from the sand, this beloved Rye beach cottage at 55 Old Beach Road has been a place where generations of our family have gathered to enjoy the simple joys of life by the sea. Built in 1965 by our parents and their siblings as a modest three-bedroom summer retreat, it quickly became the heart of countless family summers—filled with sandy feet, laughter, and the scent of ocean air drifting through open windows. Days were spent building sandcastles, jumping waves, and later surfing and paddleboarding, with the beach path conveniently located just across the street. Over the years, the cottage has been thoughtfully updated with a refreshed kitchen and bath while still holding onto the relaxed, welcoming charm that makes classic beach homes so special. Evenings often meant sunset walks, lobster dinners, and gathering together after long days in the sun. As our extended family has grown, we’ve realized we’ve simply outgrown this treasured space. With grateful hearts and so many wonderful memories, we are ready to pass this special cottage on to its next owners—so they too can create their own seaside traditions just steps from Jenness Beach.
